An Estate Defined by Riesling
Every vineyard at Robert Weil is planted exclusively with Riesling. This singular focus allows the estate to express the variety across a remarkable stylistic range, from dry estate wines and distinguished single-vineyard bottlings to finely balanced Spätlese, Auslese and exceptionally rare noble-sweet wines.
The Vineyards of Kiedrich
The estate’s identity is rooted in the steep, well-exposed slopes surrounding Kiedrich. Phyllite-rich soils, deep-rooted vines and the cooling influence of the nearby Taunus Mountains contribute to wines recognised for their precision, mineral structure and long ageing potential.
At the summit of the portfolio stands Kiedrich Gräfenberg, a historic VDP.GROSSE LAGE® first documented in the 12th century. Its south-to-west-facing slopes rise to gradients of approximately 60%, producing Rieslings of concentration, elegance and exceptional longevity.
The monopole Kiedrich Turmberg, named after the surviving keep of Scharfenstein Castle, offers a more linear and intensely mineral expression of Kiedrich’s phyllite soils.
Precision from Vineyard to Cellar
Yield-conscious vineyard work and selective hand harvesting provide the foundation for the estate’s style. In the cellar, gentle handling and patient maturation in stainless steel tanks or traditional large wooden Doppelstück barrels preserve purity and site character.
The result is a collection of Rieslings that combines clarity, tension and finesse—wines shaped by Kiedrich’s vineyards and built to evolve gracefully over many years.
